  1. Mel, you and your family are warriors. You all made your Dad's last days so amazing. He had those last moments with you all and even had a chance to speak last words over all of you. We are so sorry he is gone, he will be missed. We pray for peace for you all today and comfort for I am sure this time is not an easy one. We love you!

  2. When Melanie called me in Boise last night to let me know Dads fight was about up, I was able to talk to Dad and tell him how much I loved him and wished I was there to hold his hand, hug and kiss him. I told him I understood
his decission as it had been a hard few weeks on him. I love you Dad.

Melanie said she would keep me posted through out the night. It was at that time I pulled out my Devotional and started reading, I started with that day February 14, then I just started turning pages just looking at the titles and started reading ones that fit the moment.

Melanie called to tell me that Dad had passed, it was at that time I saw the next Devotional was Don't Look Back.

It said: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Ecclesiastes 3 tells us there is a time for everything--a time to weep and a time to mourn;a time to laugh and a time to play.

We had the opportunity to do all these things with Dad, as children and adults, even in the last few weeks of his life.

Now Dad is in a better place, no more pain.
He can laugh and play all the time now.

Sue, thank you for being our Dads best friend, you could see and feel the love you and Dad have for each other.

Nancy, thank you for being there for Sue.

Christopher, thanks for the poem you wrote to Dad. Can't wait for the time we get to have you with us all the time.

Kordell, thanks for coming out of your comfort zone to be there for Dad, I know it meant the world to him, and for being such a giving person.

Mom, thanks for being our Rock and being there for all us kids, during this time with Dad.

Devan, thanks for being such a wonderful, caring son and being there every weekend for Grandpa and helping Melanie, and for the meals you made the family.

Dan, thanks for holding down the fort while Melanie was at the hospital every day.

Melanie, thanks for being there for Dad everyday, keeping everyone in the loop, and keeping the staff at the hospital in line.

That it why it does not surprise me that the Devotional I was reading when Dad passed in the evening was: the evening devotional on the day of your birth.

    WE BELIEVE IN MIRICLES!

GOD HAD A PLAN FOR DAD:

Look at how much love was spread during the last few weeks, why not then go home to GOD on Valentines day, as a reminder to all of us of that love.

    WE LOVE YOU DAD !
